30% lower starting current The torque ramp uses in average 30% less current compared to other soft starters. This results in smaller fuses and lower energy costs. Built-in Shaft Power Monitor The built-in shaft power monitor protects your machines and processes from expensive break downs and production down time. The monitor typically prevents jammed conveyors, dry running pumps, worn-out tools etc. The Load Monitor has the same functions as our M20 Shaft Power Monitor. Pump Control The built-in pump control is based on square torque ramps. This gives a linear speed change at start and stop without any tacho or encoder. It prevents water hammering and simpler valves and smaller pipes are other positive effects. Built in Braking Techniques The MSF Softstarter brakes catches all types of load. It also detects when the motor is standing still. Quick stops are managed for productivity and safety reasons. - Dynamic DC brake without contactor for medium loads.
- Controlled sensorless soft brake with reversing contactor for heavy loads.

External PPU The external PPU option is used to move the PPU (display) from the soft starter to the front of a panel door or a control cabinet. The maximal distance between the soft starter and the external PPU is 3 m. EmoSoftCom The EmoSoftCom program is easy to use for comissioning, documentation or logging your applications.
Serial Communication, Fieldbus There are several different option card for serial communication, Profibus, Devicenet depending on the bus system.
Cable Kit for External Current Transformers This kit is used for the bypass function, to connect the external current transformers more easily.
Cable Entry Box The cable entry box makes it possible to mount an MSF 017-085 using cable glands for fastening the cable. Protection class is IP20.
